Seattle Plans a New Skatedot Skatepark for Magnolia
Magnolia’s proposed skatedot is still in design, which is exactly when a local session can have the most influence.
Before the pour, there is a conversation
Not every project begins with a massive bowl and a giant grand-opening poster. Sometimes it starts as a skatedot: a smaller, multi-use place that lets a neighborhood ride without having to leave the neighborhood to do it.
Seattle Parks and Recreation invited residents to review early concepts for a Magnolia Playfield skatedot this summer. Grindline Skateparks is working with the community and advisory council on permit-ready design and construction documents during 2026.
At this stage, the work is not asking a neighborhood to react to a finished object. It is asking what a nearby place to ride should feel like, who it should welcome and how it should sit beside everything already happening at the playfield.
