Crossroads Park Reopens With a New All-Concrete Skatepark
After years of use wore out the old ramps, Crossroads Park has reopened with a new all-concrete skate facility.
A worn-out park is not the end of the story
There is no shame in a park getting tired. The real test is what happens next. In West Des Moines, the modular ramps at Crossroads Park had reached the point where they were no longer serviceable, so the City removed them and started over in concrete.
The rebuild included community engagement and a new layout from Spohn Ranch. The City says the skatepark is complete and open, though surrounding restoration and trail work may still close the facility during active construction periods.
